An unassuming office space was transformed into a specialty pet store in the funky beach town of Cardiff, CA, with the client brief: “make it a community hub and a fun place to work.” This family-owned business is definitely both those things. A full-service Wellness and Nutrition resource, with a retail shop, professional grooming center and self-wash tubs, it is popular with locals and beyond. Balancing a modest budget with the desire for visual complexity, the overhead utilities and original structure were left exposed, and salvaged materials integrated and up-cycled.
