SPACECRAFT was developed as a modernist compound for our young family, newly arrived from the East Coast, comprised of home, art gallery and professional office. Located in the historic Craftsman District of North Park, the three boxy cypress-clad buildings were so stylistically distinct from the neighbors they seemed like spacecraft from another planet. The nickname became official to describe our professional mission: space making through craft. Monthly exhibits at SPACECRAFT GALLERY (now closed) gave emerging artists professional exposure and encouraged a new generation of art buyers.
