SPIRIT BATHROOM

The original 60’s master bath was claustrophobic. The renovation brief was simple: calm and spacious. Demolishing the enclosed shower was the first order of business, replacing it with a sparkling sweep of handmade tile and clear glass enclosure. The addition of an exterior door with a full window connects the room to the garden, bringing bursts of bright green and orange from the trees beyond. A carpentry collaboration with the client resulted in three floating shelves: burled maple planks with live edges and other “imperfections” carefully sanded and finished by hand.
